5-year roll out now complete
All 89,000 of Ñý¾«¶¯Âþ’s streetlights have now been converted to energy-efficient LED to reduce energy consumption and lighting costs.
Converting to LED means we will now use around 65% less energy. This will save millions of pounds every year, while also reducing carbon emissions.
LED lighting lasts longer than other historic lighting options and improves visibility for:
- pedestrians
- cyclists
- motorists
It also reduces light pollution into surrounding homes and gardens.
More information about LED lighting is available on our dedicated webpage.
