Creative Futures: Behind the Movement - A School Programme by Katie Dale-Everett Dance
To create artistic magic, you need the right team, yet many young people in the UK still face barriers to pursuing creative careers. Creative Futures: Behind the Movement gives Year 9 and 10 students from Thamesmead School the chance to explore four creative career pathways within the Katie Dale-Everett Dance team while responding to real creative briefs.
Over four workshops, students will:
- Choreograph new movement inspired by space and imagination.
- Design a virtual environment for the team's mixed-reality work The Empathy Lab using Blender software.
- Compose original music to accompany the new choreography.
- Discover innovative ways to document and share movement.
The project concludes with a sharing of Katie Dale-Everett Dance’s motion capture and dance performance Playscape: How to Build a Galaxy, alongside a creative workshop.
