This role has a starting salary of £47,844 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.
This is a Fixed Term Contract/ Secondment opportunity until December 2026. Please seek line managers approval before applying
We have a great opportunity to join our Elmbridge Locality team as a Senior Social Worker. We support hybrid working with the right balance. We come together in person for 2 days per week on average (40% of the working week) and support working from home the rest of the time.Â

About The Role
As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a pivotal role in leading complex casework, mentoring colleagues, and driving quality improvement. You will help shape service delivery by applying evidence-informed approaches and championing strengths-based, person-centred practice. This role supports our commitment to safeguarding, promoting independence, and ensuring that the voices of those we support are central to decision-making.Â
The secondment provides a platform for professional growth and influence. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by contributing to service development, supporting innovation, and modelling leadership in practice. Your impact will be felt not only by the individuals and families they support but also across the wider team and locality.Â
In this role you will be supervising 3 unqualified colleagues initially with a view to increasing this number or including a qualified member of staff under your supervision.Â
Your ApplicationÂ
In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours:Ìý
- Professional qualification in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England. Successful completion of an Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme if qualified as a social worker after June 2012
- Substantial post-qualification professional experience as a Social Worker 
- An applied knowledge of The Care Act and The Mental Capacity Act and experience of undertaking safeguarding enquiries
- Experience of working in complex situations using professional judgement and a range of interventions
- Experience of professional reflective supervision, guidance and advice to less experienced Social Workers, including those completing ASYE and social work students
- Commitment to your own professional development
