Course intent
Join us for a dynamic and supportive drawing course designed to help you grow your artistic skills and unlock your creativity. Through a combination of hands-on practice, group discussions, and tutor-led demonstrations, you will build confidence in both drawing and painting. Explore techniques, develop your ideas, and enjoy a relaxed, encouraging environment where experimentation is welcome and imagination is key.
What will I learn?
You will learn:
- Material Knowledge: Experiment freely with different materials and approaches to develop your personal drawing style.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
Discover your artistic potential and have fun along the way. SAL workshops are suitable for beginners and those looking to improve their skills. All materials will be provided (unless stated in course description), and you'll leave with your own handmade creations. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You need to bring:
- A pen, a ruler
- A4 cartridge paper (tutor recommends Daler Rowney or similar)
- Pencils: 2H, HB, B, 2B, 4B
- A sharpener or craft knife
- A plastic or putty rubber

What can I do when I finish the course?
In discussion with your tutor, you may like to continue the Drawing & Painting – Stage 1 course or enrol onto other Arts & Crafts courses at SAL.
