Course intent

This workshop provides practical guidance on planting spring-flowering bulbs. Participants will learn how to choose suitable bulbs, prepare the soil, plant at the correct depth and spacing, and care for bulbs to maximize flowering. The session includes demonstrations and hands-on practice, helping you achieve a thriving and colourful spring garden.

What will I learn?

You will learn:

  • How to select the right bulbs for your garden and climate
  • How to prepare soil and planting beds for optimal growth
  • Correct planting depth and spacing for healthy bulbs
  • Tips for watering, feeding, and caring for bulbs throughout the season
  • Techniques to ensure vibrant blooms year after year
  • How to handle and maintain tools to prevent injury in a safe working environment

Discover your artistic potential and have fun along the way. SAL workshops are suitable for beginners and those looking to improve their skills. All materials will be provided (unless stated in course description), and you'll leave with your own handmade creations. No prior experience is necessary鈥攋ust bring your creativity and enthusiasm!

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

You need to bring:

An apron and closed toe shoes

A notebook and pen

A pair of gloves

Baskets/Boxes to work with

What can I do when I finish the course?

In discussion with your tutor, you may like to progress onto Gardening Workshops or further Arts & Crafts courses at SAL.
