Course intent
This workshop focuses on essential spring garden maintenance. Participants will learn how to clean up garden areas after winter, care for soil, prune and divide plants, and plan seasonal planting. The session combines demonstration and discussion, helping you prepare your garden for healthy growth and vibrant blooms throughout the year.
What will I learn?
In this workshop, you will learn how to:
- Clear and tidy your garden after winter
- Prune and care for plants to encourage healthy new growth
- Refresh soil and prepare beds for planting
- Manage composting and garden waste effectively
- Plan simple seasonal planting for spring
- Handle and maintain tools to prevent injury in a safe working environment

All materials will be provided (unless stated in course description), and you'll leave with your own handmade creations. No prior experience is necessary鈥攋ust bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You need to bring:
An apron and closed toe shoes
A notebook and pen
A pair of gloves

In discussion with your tutor, you may like to progress onto Gardening Workshops or further Arts & Crafts courses at SAL.
