Course intent

You and your family will develop practical skills and knowledge in cooking healthy dishes. This will impact positively on your family wellbeing.

What will I learn?

This two-week online course (1.5 hours per week) will teach you how to make wholesome, budget-friendly soups the whole family will love鈥攊ncluding child-friendly options. Using fresh, seasonal ingredients, you鈥檒l create hearty meals perfect for colder months.

What you'll learn:

  • Cook with seasonal root vegetables for nutritious, warming soups
  • Budget effectively while using fresh produce
  • Make soups that appeal to both adults and children, with tips for picky eaters

A list of ingredients will be emailed to you. YOU DO NOT REQUIRE A MIXER OR BLENDER if udo not have one. Tutor will give dietary alternatives during sessions.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is for parents, carers and children who live in surrey and want to cook together This is delivered online via Zoom

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

What do I need to bring :

  • Have your camera on
  • Provide a mobile phone number and email address when you enrol so that we can contact you about your course.
  • Please attend all sessions
  • A reliable internet connection
  • A computer/laptop/tablet or phone with a fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome), microphone and camera
  • A pen and paper
  • Check your email for detailed joining instructions two days before course starts.
  • Fill out the `Getting to know you` form and fill out `Tell us what you think` form
  • Contact us on family.learning@surreycc.gov.uk if you have any questions

What can I do when I finish the course?

At the end of this course, we will give you details of what you can move on to next, for example volunteering, further courses with 妖精动漫 Adult Learning, a college or employment

We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
