Course intent

Start your Friday morning with an engaging lecture and we explore the life and work of Edmund of Langley, Duke of York.

What will I learn?

Edmund of Langley was the fifth son and the seventh child of King Edward III and Queen Philippa. A brave man, Edmund was not the military equal of several of his brothers but his did take part in various Continental campaigns. Created Duke of York in 1385, Edmund died in 1402, the last surviving child of Edward III and the ancestor of the House of York.
