Course intent
This is a six-week course studying the fascinating lives of German Kings. Come to discover the achievements of the Great Elector and the impact to German history
What will I learn?
In this course we will look at the lives of these remarkable men including the ambitious King Frederick I, Frederick II ‘The Great’, the tragic Emperor Frederick III and the infamous Kaiser William II.
The Kingdom of Prussia was largely the creation of the House of Hohenzollern and it was in 1701 that Frederick, Margrave of Brandenburg, first assumed the title of King in Prussia. For more than two hundred years his descendants continued as Prussian monarchs, also being proclaimed German Emperor (Kaiser) in 1871.
