Course intent

The first step to noisy fun dancing!

What will I learn?

You will learn tap dance steps, sequences & combinations and learn a choreographed dance routine. You will also be developing your body awareness and general dance skills.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is designed for beginner Tappers - learners who are new or ex-Tappers wishing to return to their practice.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Tap shoes will be essential and should be brought to every lesson. You will need to wear clothing that you can easily move in such as t-shirt and leggings. Please bring a water bottle. There are fountains to refill in the centre.

What can I do when I finish the course?

You can enrol on the next Tap Dance - Beginners course and keep dancing. If you have at least a year’s experience of Beginner level tap lessons, or with your tutor’s agreement, you may be able to move to the Tap Dance - Improvers course.

We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
