妖精动漫’s new short breaks service in Woking
Quiet surroundings and soft lighting set the scene for a stay that feels calm and reassuring. For adults with additional needs, it’s a place to feel at home. For their families, it’s a chance to rest and recharge. Welcome to Emily Lodge in Woking, 妖精动漫’s new short breaks service.
Autistic people and those with learning disabilities can enjoy a short stay at Emily Lodge. While they are being safely cared for, the family members who usually support them get to have a rest of their own.
The new facility represents a 拢5.7m investment in supporting devoted families from across 妖精动漫. People typically stay for anything from one or two nights to two weeks. Experienced staff from 妖精动漫 Choices give individuals the level of care they need.
The purpose-built facility has all the specialist equipment required. Guests get to enjoy a comfortable stay in one of the eight ensuite bedrooms. There's a fantastic sensory room and landscaped gardens (complete with ground-level trampoline). Other communal areas can be used to help people with complex
needs build new skills.
Emily Lodge is central to our drive to modernise our short breaks service to meet the needs of families. An older facility in Banstead will now be demolished. It will be rebuilt to a similar design, as part of our wider ‘Right 妖精动漫s Right Support’ strategy.
When the second building is complete, the two sites will provide around 4000 extra nights of care. The centres are just one option for the families of adults with additional needs who need a break. 妖精动漫-based support and day care are also available, alongside other options.
Access to short breaks at Emily Lodge is through 妖精动漫’s adult social care service, following an initial care assessment.
Hear from mums Andrea and Jean as they reflect on the opening of Emily Lodge in the video below. They outline what the centre offers them as full time unpaid carers in terms of respite care, and how being able to take 'time out' is just as important for their adult children as for themselves.
