Christmas
Angel or Christmas Tree book folding craft
Saturday 13 December. Drop-in: 10am to 4pm.
Get into the festive spirit at Haslemere Library and make an angelic, up-cycled folded book sculpture to decorate your home!
Choose between an Angel or an Christmas Tree.
This event is suitable for children aged 5+ and adults.
Cost: 拢3.50 per person. All materials provided.
Aladdin: Mini Panto with the Haslemere Thespians
Join us for some festive fun as The Haslemere Thespians bring the magic of panto to the library with their mini production of Aladdin! Will Aladdin find the magic lamp? Can the Genie help him defeat the wicked sorcerer? Find out in this lively, family-friendly performance full of laughter, magic, and panto cheer, that is perfect for all ages.
Saturday, 20 December, two sessions:
- 10.30am to 11am
- 11.30am to 12 noon.
Cost: 拢3 per seat.

Special Christmas story and craft time
Tuesday 23 December, from 11am to 12 noon.
Join us at for a special Christmas story and craft. We will read the beloved tale “The Christmas Pine” and “What the Ladybird Heard at Christmas” by Julia Donaldson, then get crafty making your very own tree decorations and paper chains to take home! Perfect for children aged 3 to 7. Cost: 拢1 per child.
No booking required, just like Rhymetime, we will hand out tickets at the door on the day. First come, first served!
Coffee and Company
Saturdays from 10am to 11.30am.
Coffee and Company will be will be back again from October!
Each session will feature a guest host from the community who will have a coffee and a chat with the group. Guest hosts will be added once confirmed. Session dates:
Saturday 6 December with guest host: Jock Gardner: Into the Artic Circle in winter.
2026 dates:
- 3 January: Jennifer Edwards: Roots and Routes - My life across 3 continents.
- 7 February: Meet your local Police Team.
- 7 March: Sarah Cooke: Cycling into Retirement.
January challenge
The January Challenge is an invitation to ignite your unique creativity during the coldest, darkest days of the year. It's a fun, free and accessible experience designed to set your mind on an adventure. Throughout January: Join the Haslemere Library Staff and volunteers as we undertake creative prompts set by 64million Artists. We will be showcasing the prompts and our own artwork around the library and on our social media channels. We invite you to join in the fun at our Creation Stations located throughout the library. Please remember to hand in your artwork at the help desk so that we can display them and encourage others to have a go too!
Feeling inspired by the January Challenge? Take part at home and share your creations with us online or stop by the library and use our Creation Stations set up throughout the space!
Sashiko workshop
Saturday 17 January, from 2pm to 4pm. This event is part of the January Challenge and inspired by Prompt 27: Weave Together.
Discover the beauty of Sashiko, a traditional Japanese embroidery technique that combines creativity with sustainability! This workshop is perfect for adults looking to learn a new skill while breathing new life into old clothing. All materials will be provided, but if you have an article of clothing in need of repair, bring it along, and we’ll help you transform it into something beautiful.
Cost: 拢8.50 per person.

Creative collage craft
Join us for an exciting event as part of the January Challenge. This event is part of the January Challenge and inspired by Prompt 5: Tear and Transform.
Saturday 31 January. Drop-in: 10am to 4pm.
Create an eclectic masterpiece using collage to frame and take home.
Cost: 拢2 per child. Suitable for ages 5+.
Pebble rhymetime and storytime

Story and craft time
Every Saturday, from 10.30am to 11am. Please note: Story and Craft Time is cancelled on Saturday 20 December due to the Mini Panto performance.
Storytime and craft session suitable for ages 2 to 5 years.

Reading groups
Chatterbooks reading group
One Saturday a month from 11.10am until 11.50am. Please check with the branch for the next session date.
Do you like reading, making friends and taking part in fun activities then why not join Haslemere library Chatterbooks?

Other events
LEGO club
Every Wednesday from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
This is the perfect way to get creative and build amazing things. All our LEGO has been kindly donated or rehomed, making this a fun and eco-friendly way to play and learn. For children aged 5 years and over. Cost: 拢1 per child. Tickets will be available at the Help Desk on the day. A note to parents/guardians: While your child creates in the LEGO room, you must stay on the library premises. Why not take this time to browse our books or enjoy a peaceful moment in the library? Stay and play baby and toddler group
Join us every Friday morning from 10am to 11am for a fun and relaxed baby and toddler group for ages 0 to 3.
What to Expect:
- A welcoming space for little ones to play, explore, and socialize.
- Free tea and coffee for parents and carers.
- A chance to connect with other families in the community.
This is a free, drop-in group, no need to book, just come along and enjoy some quality time with your little one! We cannot wait to see you and your tiny tots.
Sketch club
Second Friday of every month, from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
Come for a relaxing afternoon of doodling, sketching, and creativity. Bring your favourite drawing materials and let your imagination take the lead. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just enjoy a good doodle, Sketch Club is the perfect place to connect with fellow creatives and share your passion.
No need to book or pay, just drop in, draw, and enjoy! Free tea and coffee provided.
