Current timescales
We recommend you submit your renewal to us 12 weeks before your Blue Badge is due to expire to make sure you receive it in time.
Status of your renewal
Please don't chase the delivery of your Blue Badge unless you have not heard from us within 12 weeks of submitting your renewal. If you renewed online, you can track the status of your renewal.
Expiration and renewal
A Blue Badge is normally valid for 3 years. It is clearly printed with 'valid from' and expiry dates.
You should renew at least 12 weeks before the expiry date.
The Department for Transport (DfT) owns the process and the form that you use to renew.
What you need
Select the 'Renew a Blue Badge' link below to see the list of documents or letters needed for your application, under the 'Apply or renew online' section.
If you can't do this online, you can renew by post.
